Ice dams can loosen and destroy shingles and other roofing materials. As ice builds up it can force its way beneath roof coverings and lift them up. This will eventually lead to other issues such as interior water damage.<\/p>\n

Ice buildup in and around gutters can bend, warp and otherwise damage gutters and downspouts. With enough ice, gutters can even be torn away from the building. As gutters are compromised, new hazards are created, and ice buildup can become even worse.<\/p>\n

Dangling icicles may feel like part of a pristine winter scene but they can be quite problematic. In addition to being an indicator of ice dam related problems, falling icicles can damage property and cause injury to guests or customers.<\/p>\n

As ice dams flex their muscles, they can allow water to seep beneath the roof covering and into the structure. This opens up a whole host of possibilities for water damage. Peeling paint, damaged insulation, mold, mildew, and many other issues make this an expensive and challenging fix.
